Welcome to Chiara Valentini's webpage!

The aim of this web site is to share with you my knowledge and expertise in communications and public relations in order to participate, with my small contribution, to the construction of a stronger professional and scientific community.
In Europe Public Relations and Communication fields have not yet developed a common professional or academic knowledge and significance. Besides different problems of definition, perception and "position" in the society, public relations still suffers of a "localization" problem. PR and in general communication practices vary from country to country with great diversity in definitions, perceptions of the activities implemented and methods of application. A similar matter is visible in communication studies and especially in public relations studies which are generally nationally bounded and they suffer of being quite invisible outside of their own countries.

We cannot forget that our society is continuously changing and evolving towards more complex and global systems. In this scenery communications, in the wider sense, is extremely important, is the connecting dowel between different worlds, cultures and societies.

In the following pages, you can find some personal information, some material and work that I developed and other information about current studies and work in Communication and PR. The core idea is to share, within certain copyright limits, as much information and results as possible, so that this data is not only food for bookworms.

Hoping that by presenting my own research ideas and my thoughts about communication to all my colleagues my cause for a stronger professional and scientific community becomes reality, I wish you a nice reading.
