I am currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Language and Business Communication at the Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus in Denmark. I gained my Doctoral degree in Organizational Communication and Public Relations at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland and my Master degree in Public Relations at the University of Udine in Italy. I have also studied - for a non academic degree in 2001/2002- Business Communication at Laurentian University, Sudbury, Canada.
My working experiences are ‘assorted’ as I like to define them. Assorted because I have worked in different professional sectors (private, public organizations and NGOs), in different countries (Italy, Canada, Belgium, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark) and in different functions (full or part-time employee but also as freelance consultant), including an experience at the Italian Representation of the European Commission in Rome and the European Movement International Secretariat in Brussels. |

As I consider myself a sociable person and I value the importance of dialogue and exchange of knowledge, I like to participate to different social and professional events. I often present papers at the major international conferences in public relations and communication sciences (such those organized by EUPRERA, ICA, IAMCR, ECREA).
My research interests focus on public relations and relationships management; institutional/ political communication; public diplomacy; international/ intercultural communication; the European Union. But generally speaking I do not limit myself to only these fields. If there is something interesting and challenging (I love challenges) I throw myself into new ideas and approaches.
Results of collaborations but also solo work are a book on EU communication strategies (main author) and two books (co-author) on Italian PR-journalist perceptions and self-perceptions and on EU information and communication activities. I have also published various articles on public communications, relationship management in international contexts and media relations both in Italian and international peer-reviewed journals (see section 'publications').
Besides being a member of the European Public Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA), International Communication Association (ICA), European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), I serve as scientific reviewer for Public Relations and Political Communication Divisions of the Annual Conference ICA, for the National Communication Association (NCA) and for some international journals.
In my spare time I like travelling, cooking and practicing different sports (swimming, skiing, running and dancing). I love arts, especially Renaissance painting like the works of Titian, Raphael, Botticelli, Piero della Francesca, Jan van Eyck, Dürer, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Bosch and others.
